Little big baby sweater.

Mh, it doesn't look very pretty in this picture. I used some sockyarn I had. It's a nice pattern, some new techniques to me. Such was one of the main thing that convinced me of trying out the pattern. Oh it looks gray here, but I think we'll have plenty of colorful babythings that come to add colours.

The buttons were from the stash, too, from some old pants. I like having just two on it.

I have such difficulties to decide on baby things, sizes and needs. Does a summer baby need woolens? With all the stuff we got from family and friends, is there need of more?

I thrifted alphabet stamps lately and gave them a go for mothers day.

And added some butterflies made after this tutorial. The paper I had keept from a book which I had turned into a photo album, the wire comes from a advertising brochure - total recycling and low cost. Maximizing the fun.

Happy Mothers Day to my mum and all the mothers out there - from a soon-going-to-be-mother.

Aprilsocken :: April socks.

Schwesterherz gab mir Wolle und bat um Socken - hier sind sie nur wenige Tage zu spät und das obwohl Regia 6-fädig sich superschnell verstrickt. Irre. Ich hoffe das Ajourmuster am Schaft ist nicht zu eng, aber sie hat die schmalsten Beine die ich kenne - es besteht also Hoffnung. Aber ich werde warten sie ihr zu geben.

Again. Wednesday.

Knit My First. The Age of Brass. First shawl. First knit in linen. I'm afraid, what to do with the loose ends? They won't behave like wool. Oh my.

Read No comment needed. But - I don't like the book cover. I do like what the Superbrain is writing. So I cast on that shawl in needles that seemed to short. And didn't bother about the needle size. She makes knitting more fun!

Märzsocken :: March socks.

Weil ich schneller neue Stücke anfange als angefangene zu beenden vergesse ich mitunter Ergenbisse zu zeigen.

Hier die Socken für Papi aus dem Yarn along.

Leider nur ein flüchtiges Foto zum Beweis bevor ich sie fröhlich überreicht habe.

Die Wolle war nicht besonders und die neue Fersenanleitung gefiel mir auch noch zum nochmalstricken. Von den Zehen angefangen.

 

Ich möchte in diesem Blog - Herzlich Willkommen! - eigentlich nicht nur Gestricke zeigen, sondern auch meine Liebe zur Natur. Allerdings merke ich, dass mir das gar nicht so leicht fällt. Sie ist einfach so groß. Kaum zu fassen - auch nicht mit dem Foto.

Kürzlich suchte ich noch angestrengt nach Frühlingsboten. Ich roch ihn schon doch grüne Botschafter versteckten sich noch...

Auch meine Spürnasenfreundin konnte nur die alten grünen Gesichter finden.

Doch jetzt grünt und blüht und zwitschert es ringsum! Wie schön - wie fröhlich, wie ansteckend und freundlich! Was für eine Wohltat. Stimmt's?

und weil ich ihn so liebe.

Zurzeit arbeite ich gerne an seinem Schreibtisch. Er ist größer und in einem helleren Raum. Mir ist der katastrophale Zustand seiner Buntstifte aufgefallen und weil ich ihn so liebe wollte ich sie ihm alle spitzen.

Während des Spitzens hab ich mir nicht nur eine Wasserblase am Finger eingeholt. Mir ist auch eingefallen, was wir früher immer mit dem Abfall gemacht haben...

... es ist bestimmt fünfzehn Jahre her seit ich das letzte Mal Spitzerblumen gemacht habe. Man sieht das wohl, etwas Übung würde nicht schaden. Ich freu mich trotzdem über das Resultat. Frühling ja du bist's!

Finally for the Yarn along. I'm back here. I like yarning along with the Small Things.

Though nothing spectacular is happening.

Knit I had cast on march socks, intended for me they turned out too big. I realized I had the wrong needle size (normally I knit with bamboo needles one size smaller, I thought these were the same size). So I decided to knit for dads birthday this month. For me another time. Not the next pair though as my sister gave me wool and asked me to make her some warm socks. I can't say no. Though I never see her in my knits and she got the most of them in the family I think. And I'm inbetween chairs because I recently decided I wanted to knit the next twelve months only for my little family to be. My love, myself and the little one to come in summer. Hard to decide. And I got this new idea of one pair of socks a month. Though then again bigger projects might never happen. As they never did so far. Hard to decide. Yes?

Read "Mein Russland" [My Russia] is a colleciton of stories from big authors all through Russia by Klaus Bednarz. Puschkin, Mermontow, Gogol, Wolkonskaja, Tolstoi to name some. I pick it up from time to time. And let it rest for a wihle again. I got the book from an AI book sale on the streets right before I had decided to go to Russia. I liked reading in it before the trip. And I still do now. But it feels very different from before. Before I had the chance to experience a teeny weeny bit of this wonderland with its wonderpeople. Wonderstories.

Wednesday again? Feels like time is running. And it's not just wednesday again, it's wednesday evening already.

Since the baby blanket has overgrown handbag-knitting-thing-size I cast on socks again. Before casting on the blanket I was so tired of making socks. But since the blanket is growing so slowly I felt really comfortable to cast on socks agains.

Knit I've had an eye on the pattern for a while. Now it was time. First I cast on in green and realized it was striped which I didn't like for this pattern. So I went to that mixture of grey and the medium size. Which now turned out bigger than planned. Which means it wouldn't fit mommy, but me. But I didn't want grey socks. That makes it complicated. But I still have stitches to go. And think about.  Where will they go.

Read Forgot about that. Still not reading a lot. But "Mein Urgroßvater und ich" [My Great Grandfather and I] by James Krüss is read to me these days. Extraordinary.

Sowas ist mir noch nie passiert. Und jetzt mach ich immer wieder den Deckel auf. Und staune. Und denke ich werde nicht standhalten. Ich wollte eins nach dem anderen machen. Ein großes Projekt reicht. Nicht. Wenn warme Wolle ins Haus schneit.

Nebenbei ist diese feine Dame von der Nadel gehüpft. In ein kuscheliges Bettchen wo sie auf ihren Auftritt wartet. Ich wünschte ich könnte schöner sticken. Ich will herausfinden wie das geht.

Dann lernt sie vielleicht auch noch das Sprechen. Wobei die liebe Valentina eine Reisekameradin werden soll. Da passt doch jemand der zuhört. Und sich schöne Geschichten merkt.
